In accordance with the recently-enacted Ohio House Bill 197, the Village Council of South Lebanon, Ohio, will hold its regular scheduled meeting for Thursday, May 21st,  2020 at 6:30 PM remotely. PUBLIC HEARING LEGAL NOTICE

 Please be advised that a public hearing will be held by the Village of South Lebanon Planning Commission on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the South Lebanon Municipal Building, 10 N. High Street, South Lebanon, Ohio, 45065, to address the following issue:

River Creek Lofts, LLC (Applicant) has submitted a preliminary development plan (PDP) for the property known as 1771 Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road, Lebanon, OH  45036 (30.54 acres, Parcel ID 12-07-326-002-0 & 12-07-100-008-0). The Applicant is proposing to create a multi-family development consisting of 416 units including one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Said property is currently zoned B-2 and the Applicant is requesting a change to R-3 PUD (Planned Unit Development).

Upon review and recommendation by the Planning Commission, the matter will be forwarded to the Village Council for further action.

Please be advised that a public hearing will be held by the Village of South Lebanon Planning Commission on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at the South Lebanon Municipal Building, 10 N. High Street, South Lebanon, Ohio, 45065, to address the following issue:

Redwood USA, LLC (Applicant) has submitted a preliminary development plan (PDP) for the property located along Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road between Turtle Creek and Sutton Drive (41.031 acres, Parcel ID 12-01-151-013-2). The Applicant is proposing to create a multi-family development consisting of 110 two-bedroom apartments. Said property is currently zoned I-1 (Light Industrial) and the Applicant is requesting a change to R-3 PUD (Single & Multi-Family Residential Planned Unit Development).

Upon review and recommendation by the Planning Commission, the matter will be forwarded to the Village Council for further action.

Restart Information from the South Lebanon Water Department

The Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) has issued the following memo regarding water supply flushing:

As businesses and buildings reopen under the “Responsible RestartOhio” plan due to the COVID-19 pandemic, that have had little to no water usage, it is important to flush water that has been stagnant. Low water usage can contribute to bacterial growth, including Legionella which can cause a serious type of pneumonia called Legionnaires’ disease. It can also cause other water quality issues with potential health risks due to the build-up of lead and copper in stagnant water that’s been collecting in older pipes and fixtures.

As buildings reopen, it is critical to drain, flush, and if necessary based on a review of building conditions, disinfect the hot and cold-water systems to remove harmful contaminants. Devices that store water, such as drinking water fountains, water heaters, storage tanks, and any droplet or mist-forming devices such as cooling towers, humidifiers, showerheads, and certain medical and manufacturing devices and process equipment should also be flushed and disinfected in accordance with manufacturer’s recommendations or industry best practices.

The Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued a letter with more information, which you can access HERE, as well as “Guidance for Premise Plumbing Water Service Restoration”, which you can access HERE.

All questions should be directed to the Ohio Department of Health COVID-19 Hotline at 1-833-4-ASK-ODH.

Here are a couple of additional suggestions from the Village for getting back in buildings that haven’t been used in awhile:

  1. Flush sink fixtures for 3-5 minutes to remove stagnate water especially prior to use for consumption;
  2. Dump automatic ice bins 2-3 times before consumption;
  3. Flush toilets 2-3 times to wash down the drain;
  4. Pour a gallon of water down drains that have not been in use for 30 days.  This will prevent sewer gas from entering the building from dry P traps in the drains; and
  5. Check dates on perishables left in refrigerators.

Message from the Mayor-Development continues in the Village

To the Residents of South Lebanon:

Despite the Statewide restrictions due to the COVID-19 virus, the Village continues to attract new businesses and developments. Here is an update on a couple of current developments taking place in the Village:

Siteworx – Driving north on Interstate 71, you may have noticed the new building under construction just past the Turtlecreek Road overpass. This will be the new headquarters for Siteworx, a site development company that has been located in the Village since its inception in 2010. Siteworx has grown from just five (5) employees in 2010 to well over 100 employees. In addition to being a growing company, they have also been a good community partner throughout the years. We are fortunate to have a quality company like Siteworx located in the Village.

McDonalds – At their meeting on April 21st, the Village Planning Commission approved the site plan for a new McDonald’s restaurant. It will be located next to the Mike’s Carwash (currently under construction) in the Rivers Crossing West development along State Route 48. McDonald’s officials have stated that they are planning on breaking ground in July but this may get pushed back due to the impacts of the corona virus. We will keep you updated on the progress.

In addition to these developments, there are additional residential and commercial developments in progress that we will continue to keep you updated on.

Street Sweeping to begin on May 5th & 6th

Street sweeping on all curbed streets in the Village for 2020 will begin next Tuesday and Wednesday on May 5th and 6th. “No Parking” signs will be placed along the streets the night before the sweeping.  Please be sure move any vehicles on the affected side of the street to avoid being cited. Street sweeping will take place on the 1st Tuesday & Wednesday of the month through October unless a date change is necessary. A final sweep will be scheduled in November.
