Warren County (Tuesday, April 21, 2020) – Preliminary work has begun for a bridge rehabilitation project on state Route 48 in Warren County, and single-lane restrictions are now in effect.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating the structure over the Little Miami near the corporation limit of South Lebanon. During the initial phase of work, SR 48 will be reduced to one lane during daytime, business hours for crews to install a work platform under the bridge.
Traffic will be maintained by flaggers from approximately 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily, weather permitting, and the hours of operation will extend through the weekend and continue until the platform is constructed.
Following initial work, the bridge will be closed beginning Monday, June 1. The closure will be in effect for up to 75 days, and motorists will be detoured by way of I-71, S.R. 123 and U.S. 22.
Great Lake Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $7.29 million to complete work on the S.R. 48 bridge rehabilitation, as well as the U.S. 22 bridge over the Little Miami at Foster that will undergo routine maintenance work in 2021.
