Planning Commission Meeting – 12/19/17

A Village Planning Commission meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017, at 6:00 p.m. in the Village Council Chambers, 99 N. High Street, South Lebanon, Ohio. The Planning Commission will be reviewing the final plat for the Riverside Phase 2 subdivision. South Lebanon/Union Township Swearing In Ceremony to be held December 14th

The recently elected Village Council Members and Union Township Trustees will be sworn into office on December 14th, 2017, at 7:00 p.m. at the South Lebanon Community Center, 83 N. Section Street. This event is open to the public so please join us in welcoming our new elected officials.

River Road is now open – 11/30/17

The Warren County Engineer’s Office has announced that River Road between Shawhan Road and Stubbs Mill Road is now open to traffic. http://www.wceo.us/News/2017/113017.aspx

UPDATE – MASON-MORROW-MILLGROVE ROAD now open while construction continues

UPDATE – 12/13/17 – Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road is now open between State Route 48 and Lebanon Road is now open while construction continues on John C. Quinn Boulevard. Delays and limited access to John C. Quinn Boulevard are possible until the project is complete. We appreciate your patience as we continue to make improvements to the Village’s infrastructure.

Road Closure on Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road for Sanitary Sewer Installation

 South Lebanon, Ohio – Starting on Monday, November 20, 2017, Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road east of State Route 48 between John C. Quinn Boulevard and First Baptist Church in the Village of South Lebanon will be closed for four (4) weeks. The closure is required for a sanitary sewer main extension.

 The planned detour for the closure will utilize Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road to John C. Quinn Boulevard to Corwin Nixon Boulevard to Lebanon Road to Pike Street.

State Route 48/Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road Intersection Project-Update 10/27/17

10/27/17 UPDATE – The intersection is now open in all 4 directions.

Dear South Lebanon Residents:

In July, work began on the long-awaited State Route 48/Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road Intersection Project. The projected completion date was the end of 2017. But, due to unforeseen utility relocation issues, the project will not be completed this year.  The Contractor is now completing the necessary items to allow for all ways of the intersection to be opened safely until they return in the Spring to complete the project. All of these items are planned to be completed by 10/27/17 with Mason-Morrow-Millgrove Road being opened thereafter.

The Village is also planning to install a new sanitary sewer main from John Quinn Boulevard east to a manhole located on the west side of the First Baptist Church’s parking lot. This project has also been affected by the utility relocation issue. This project is still planned to be completed this year but it may be delayed into next year as well depending on the progress of the utility relocation.

The current plan is for construction to resume in April, 2018, with no full road closures planned and completion of the project to completed by July 31, 2018.

We appreciate your patience during this phase of construction and look forward to the completion of the project next Summer.

Annual Tax Interest Rates

By October 31 of each year, the interest rate that will apply to overdue municipal income taxes during the next calendar year will be posted herein, as required by Ohio Revised Code Section 718.27(F).

The interest rate is calculated by adding five percentage points to the federal short-term rate (rounded to the nearest whole number percent) that was in effect during July of the current year, in accordance with ORC Section 718.27(A)(5), and it is applicable to tax years beginning on or after January 1, 2016.

Based on these requirements, the applicable interest rate is as follows:

2016  5.0%  0.42%

Update on Peters Cartridge Factory Annexation

As many of you may be aware, the Village Council recently voted to approve an agreement with the owner/developer of the former Peters Cartridge Factory to annex the property to the Village and to create a Community Reinvestment Area (CRA) to assist in the restoration of this historic landmark, which will include 130 loft apartments and over 14,000 square feet of commercial space.

To address the concerns of the Kings Local School District, Village officials have met with and will continue to meet with school officials to work toward a resolution that is satisfactory to all parties.

Recent Changes to Village Curfew Ordinance

The Village Council recently enacted the following changes to the Village’s curfew ordinance: 1) amending the definition of “minor” to anyone under 18 years of age; and 2) raising the fine for violation of this ordinance from $50.oo to $100.00. The curfew times remain unchanged at 10:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Sunday through Thursday and 12:30 a.m. to 6:00 a.m. Friday & Saturday.
